Our story
Elnè Stapelberg, founder and owner of In Motion Wellness.
Degree: Honours degree in Biokinetics in 2010 from the University of the Free State.
Why Biokinetics? My passion for fitness, wellness, and helping others made biokinetics an ideal career path, blending all three into a fulfilling profession. I always knew I wanted to make a difference in life, and for the past 15 years, I lived my passion as a Biokineticist.
Hobbies: As an avid runner, hockey player and outdoor enthusiast, I have participated in various road and trail races, including The Two Oceans marathon.
The beginning of In Motion Wellness
For the past 15 years, I have practised as a well-known Biokineticist in the Johannesburg area. Two years ago, I was diagnosed with a neurological disorder and had neck surgery. Heartbreakingly, the physical part of my career started to put excessive strain on my neck, forcing me to step away from my job as a Biokineticist.
This has given me a new perspective on life. While as a Biokineticist, I always had great empathy for my patients who were in pain and unable to perform simple tasks or take part in their favourite sports, I never fully understood what they were going through until I myself was in great pain and had to give up running.
After much soul searching and still driven by the need to help people, and use my knowledge and skills as a Biokineticist, I founded In Motion Wellness. This is a different way of supporting and helping people…something out of the norm, something fun, something affordable, something for everyone.
What we do
In Motion Wellness helps you live better by making health and wellness affordable, accessible and enjoyable.
We create a series of bespoke and ready-made programmes that are available online or in-person and include:
- Injury risk prevention
- Home based strengthening and conditioning
- Gym based strengthening and conditioning
- Flexibility and mobility
- Race preparation for various distances
- In person group exercise classes
- Online group exercise classes
These programmes have been specifically designed for the following groups, and are in various stages of their fitness journey:
- Runners
- Padel players
- Females recovering from pregnancy
- Females looking to improve their bone density
- Senior citizens
- School athletes
Whether they are precautionary programmes to prevent injuries from happening or post injury programmes, our goal is to guide and support you to achieve your goal.
